S01E02 | The Second Attempt
The Second Attempt of writing my whole story for the home page. Another perspective, some new stories, a little shorter, but still sooo many words… Good luck, enjoy. Hopefully both!
Hi there and welcome to the Sea Rover website.
My name is Dickie and I indulged myself in a life changing adventure.
In the beginning of 2020, the first months of Covid-19, I decided to take a leap of faith and move from my secure apartment in The Netherlands to my new tiny home on the water; a sail yacht I named Sea Rover | The Hague. After some time, I found that I really enjoyed this new way of living in a minimalist and adventurous way. So whilst learning and developing myself on a weekly basis on boat maintenance, sailing, the sailing industry and more, I also came across an offer in Greece I couldn’t refuse. Months later, with a lot of overthinking, writing a business case and finding finances, I bought the Sea Rover | Lefkada in the beginning of 2021.
On this website you’ll find: how to step aboard yourself - or with family and friends - on one of my sail yachts in Greece or The Netherlands. This way you can join me on adventurous or leisure, sunny or rainy, social and active sailing trips along The Netherlands and at the coasts of a Mediterranean country you would like to spend your next holiday at (think Croatia and Greece). So, yes: you can step aboard on one of the Sea Rovers yourself.
Next I found myself enjoying writing a Sea Rover Journal to reflect on my learnings, developments and to look back on these adventures later on in life. And so I decided to start a new hobby: sharing my stories via Bottled Posts.
On the ‘My Why’ page I will tell you a little bit more about who I am and elaborate on my decisions and how I started this adventure. But I also want to invite you to read about - and maybe support me in - my future ambitions and sustainable ideas I want to implement throughout the business and the sail yachts I am responsible for. So feel free to share any insights, suggestions or ideas.
Then at last I have a page about Sea Rover trades ware. And no, I don’t want to encourage you to buy more stuff you don’t need, so please consider twice whenever you want a new Sea Rover Sweatshirt. And if you don’t need it, but would like to be reminded on that great trip you joined me on. Please just buy the logo and let me have it stitched on your clothing of choice, like one of your t-shirts or sweatshirts. Please don’t send me your dirty underwear, I won’t return it washed and all.
